From a Kitchen Benchtop to Retail Shelves

The Candle Apothecary began with one man, a plug-in stovetop and a collection of second-hand saucepans on the kitchen benchtop.

What started as a search for candles that didn't smell like everything else quickly became something of an obsession. After a year of experimenting with waxes, wicks and fragrances, we had the beginnings of a candle collection that reflected our own tastes.

Since then, we've developed our fragrance range, refined our packaging and become a familiar face at Auckland markets, building relationships with customers, fellow makers and independent businesses along the way.

We've grown considerably since those kitchen benchtop experiments, but the idea behind The Candle Apothecary hasn't changed.
